Religious Belief

The part of the brain that activates when someone thinks of God, is the part of the brain that involves lying. Without proof of God's existence, you need to lie to yourself that God exists. To “walk” with God, while having doubt, some people need to first pretend that God is real. Mike Mchargue (a believer in the New Testament) suggested this to try to get someone to believe: ‘imagine God through mental imagery (Colt: God isn’t supposed to have a knowable form) and then pray to this imaginary God. It will seem silly at first but it becomes natural with repetition. People consistently report feeling closer to God after as little as two weeks of prayer–even if they don't believe in God at all at the outset.’ So imagining a god with mental imagery can help someone believe in a god, and it doesn't take long to 'feel closer' to "God". Belief in God/Christianity can seem silly and childish for a reason. The more someone tells others a particular lie, the easier

Is It OK For Females To Speak In Church

If 1 Corinthians 14:34,35 was only talking about a husband, he might be OK with her asking any question in service. Some male pastors might be OK with a woman asking a question in service and that could be publicly known. So it seems like there are no exceptions, at least when it comes to women asking questions. Here are verses instructing women to be quiet and to not teach (and a reason why: Eve being deceived ...): 1 Timothy 2:11-15. Before that New Testament teaching was revealed, the Jews would not allow a woman to read scripture in their synagogue. They would allow a boy to. So for some reason, the Jews already thought that it would be wrong for a woman to teach and/or read scripture in their religious building. According to St. Paul, women were not allowed to be public teachers in the church because teaching is an office of authority. Rabbi means 'my master'. A preacher has authority over a church service [when songs, prayer, the offering, announcements and any stories t

Do People Have A Natural Belief In A Creator God

Three studies at Boston University revealed people (including atheists) had a so called "knee jerk" reaction to pictures of natural landscapes - the belief that the natural stuff was designed by something intelligent. If they were raised as a Christian, when they were younger, that could influence things. Boston is in the USA, where there were many Christians (7/10). They tested some people from Finland, but I don't know how many (and perhaps they were Christians when they were younger. There were quite a few Christians there).
